Welcome to Pat Daugherty Jewelry Design.
I am passionate about creating pieces that are modern, wearable and distinctive, combining traditional and
innovative methods, with bold shapes, textures and color. Incorporating stones and pearls with silver, gold and reactive metals create my ever-evolving eclectic design direction,
with inspiration from architectural and geometric to rustic and organic. This interrelationship of materials and techniques
offer a personal unique design choice for the discerning individual, reflecting their personal style through their accessories.
My initial fascination with surface patterns and textures
quickly translated to fabricated jewelry and metalwork. The introduction of the reactive metals niobium and titanium led
to the exploration of integrating vibrant color to my designs,
and from there, the ideas exploded. Now, experimentation
with chemical patinas has added a painterly quality to many
of my designs, opening yet another door to merge color and metal in a unique way.
Originally a high school teacher of fine arts and crafts, I
continue to instruct and inspire students in precious and
non precious metals in Manhattan.
My work has been exhibited in juried shows, and is on
display in various galleries in the US. Born in Ohio, I am presently residing and creating in New York City.
